346 Baddow Road, October 2010 — the Beehive still trading, five years before closure.
The Story
Closed at the end of March 2015 — last orders called with a single line on the Beehive Facebook page and the windows boarded up two weeks later. Sat on the corner of Baddow Road and Beehive Lane in Great Baddow, and known in its final years for a well-regarded walled beer garden at the rear. Struggled through the early 2010s against competition from both Chelmsford town-centre bars and better-supported country pubs (the neighbouring Carpenters Arms had already gone, converted into Yasmin Indian Brasserie). Displaced regulars pointed toward The Star Inn and Blue Lion.
Ghost Hunter mode reveals 500+ closed and demolished pubs on the PINtPOINT radar — each one a room that once poured pints on that exact street corner.
