The Story
Originally The Goathouse (c.1700), renamed The Brown Bear by 1715 and later simplified to The Bear. Leased to Ind Coope from the 1830s. Continues to trade today as Deers Rest at the same site on Noak Hill Road.
The name continues. Deers Rest carries it forward.
