The Story
A small canalside pub where Ladbroke Grove crosses the Grand Union Canal. It was the Victoria, a name found in newspapers from the 1890s, until Fuller's took it over in 1977 and renamed it the Narrow Boat after the boats that used the nearby Portobello Docks. It went straight into the brewery's Silver Jubilee ‘Quest for Silver’ passport that year, and CAMRA's 1981 Real Beer in London lists it as a ‘small canal side local formerly called The Victoria’, with London Pride and ESB on handpump. It closed in 1992 and was demolished in 1994; a newer building stands on the site.
