The Story
The pub on the corner of Fuller's Griffin Brewery in Old Chiswick. The building is the end house of Mawson Row, a Grade II* terrace built around 1715 for Thomas Mawson, owner of the brewery that became Fuller's. The pub traded under two names at once, the Mawson Arms and the Fox & Hounds, with a hanging sign for each, and Fuller's 1977 Silver Jubilee ‘Quest for Silver’ passport lists it as both. CAMRA's 1981 Real Beer in London describes a busy pub in an attractive Georgian terrace next to the brewery, pouring Chiswick Bitter, London Pride and ESB. It closed with the first Covid lockdown in March 2020, and Fuller's announced it would not reopen.
