The Story
A Charrington street-corner pub in Woolwich, listed in every edition of CAMRA's Real Beer in London from 1975 to 1981: a ‘friendly street-corner pub with small, cosy saloon’ in 1976, and a ‘pleasant back street pub serving new housing estates’ by 1981. It closed in December 2015 and was demolished the following year. The flats that replaced it included a new pub on the ground floor, but it never opened, and in 2022 permission was granted to turn that space into housing too.
