The Story
A large Courage pub on Green Lanes in Winchmore Hill, listed for Directors in every edition of CAMRA's Real Beer in London from 1975 to 1981; the 1976 guide called it a ‘well run pub with large, comfortable bars’. For a time it traded as Jim Thompson's. It was sold in January 2015, and after Enfield council twice rejected bids to list it as an Asset of Community Value, the building became a Waitrose. A micropub a little further north on Green Lanes, the Little Green Dragon, took up the old name.
