The Story
One of the original Davy's 1970s wine-bar tavern names — traded from a cellar-style room off Tavistock Court in Covent Garden Market. Closed December 2025; the whimsical name is part of the same lineage as Tappit Hen, Bunghole and Mug House.
Davy's poured the last glass here on 21 December 2025. Mr Fogg's is reported to be taking the lower ground of the market hall as a flagship tavern, due summer 2026 — the same well under a different operator, and not open at the time of writing. It would not be this pub rebuilt either. Nothing pours here yet.
