The Story
The Bilbo Baggins Beer & Banjo Emporium at 122 Newgate Street opened in early 1991 in a former Indian restaurant — a free house with an Adnams, Tetley and Brakspear range and a darts board downstairs. It lasted less than a decade, the name probably outliving the pub's chances of survival.
