The Firkin Ale Trail II

The Firkin chain officially died on 8 October 1999 when the brewing stopped. The idea didn't. A modern Firkin Brewery operates today from Fox & Firkin in Lewisham — its beer pours across eight south London bars in the brewery's official stockist network. Fox & Firkin is the only one the brewery actually owns; the others are independent venues that consistently carry the beer. This is the sequel to The Firkin Ale Trail (the 1990 dog-head): same DNA, different model — a small brewery and a partner network rather than a chain estate. Brixton to Eltham, west to east.

Walking order west-to-east across south London — ~19km end-to-end, transit-assisted between Surrey Quays and Lewisham. The anchor is Fox & Firkin (Stop 6, Lewisham) where the modern brewing is done; the others pour those beers.
